Owner/Founder/Coach

J. Scot Heathman is an independent consultant and leadership and development coach with over 25 years of experience leading numerous cross-functional teams, organizations and thousands of personnel and leaders. He is a retired Air Force Colonel and a highly decorated officer with extensive combat-experience as a former KC-135 and C-17 instructor pilot. He last served as the Commander of Scott Air Force Base and Vice Commander of Eighteenth 18th Air Force, both headquartered in Southwestern Illinois. Scot is best known for being a servant leader with a passion for elevating others to become the best versions of themselves. His leadership mantra is simple, “Be Present, Be Bold, Be Innovative.”

Scot possesses a broad educational background which includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and three Master’s Degrees from: Gonzaga University in Organizational Leadership with a concentration in Servant Leadership studies; the U.S. Army’s School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) program in Operational Art and Science; and from the Naval War College in National Security and Strategic Studies with a concentration in Senior Leader Development. Additionally, Scot is a certified TalentSmart Level I and II Facilitator in Emotional Intelligence, a Wiley Everything DiSC Authorized Partner and a Master Instructor as an independent contractor for Technical Management Services teaching leadership and develop courses to U.S. Federal employees and organizations. Additionally, Scot is a graduate of Singularity University’s Leading Exponentially Executive Course; Center of Creative Leadership’s Leading Strategically course and the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Enterprise Leadership seminar.

Scot is the founder and owner of Elevating Others, an Air Force Wounded Warrior, and Disabled Veteran. He is a member of numerous organizations to include: National Speaker Association, Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Military Officers of America Association, Association of Talent Development, Air Force Sergeant’s Association and The Outlier Project. He also volunteers as an advisory board member for the Restoration Ranch, a local non-profit in Shiloh, IL and the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois’ Partnering for Military Families committee. He’s been a guest lecturer for Gonzaga University’s School of Leadership Studies and St. Louis University’s Global Leadership program. He’s been featured on several podcasts to include the Circuit of Success and Emotional Optimism, interviewed for Air Mobility Magazine, and his personal story of resilience was featured on the local CBS Affiliate, KMOV Channel 4, Surprise Squad. Did we mention he’s a big, Star Wars nerd?
